NOFX, _The Longest EP_ out today!

I was going to be funny and write a really long drawn out boring news post to commemorate release day for NOFX’s The Longest EP. Get it? Eh, I’m tired and fuck, Fat Mike says it better anyway so take a look at what he wrote below. In the meantime, here’s the gist; The Longest EP is a collection of 30 EP tracks from 1987 to 2009, plus rarities, out of print stuff and previously unreleased outtakes and it comes out today, hurray! You can listen to a full album stream compliments of AOL/Spinner by clicking here! Dan Sites, who designed the cover art for The Longest Line lent his talents to The Longest EP artwork, check it out here! You can order this release digitally, CD or on vinyl by going here.

We have a new CD that just came out called “The Longest EP”, but I am suggesting to not buy it. Instead you should go to a store and buy each individual EP. The Longest Line, Never Trust a Hippy, Cokie the Clown, Dinosaurs Will Die, The PMRC can suck on this, Regaining Unconciousness, and the many compilations that some of the songs can be found on. You should be able to buy all of them for a mere 38 bucks. Well worth it. Never mind about the two unreleased songs or the super hard to find S/M airlines 7 inch. Those songs aren’t very good anyway. Once again, don’t buy the Longest EP for $10 through Fat Wreck Chords or Interpunk. Take the $38 dollar option. Thank you, NOFX

Want to enter a NOFX contest? Course you do. Click here to visit Interpunk.
NOFX are on tour in Europe! Click here to view their dates.
Though this air guitar madness has nothing to do with The Longest EP, you will thank us later.

The Undead "9 Toes Later EP"

Former Misfits guitarist Bobby Steele formed The Undead in 1980 and released this (their first) EP in 1982. During the recording of this EP, one of Bobby Steele's toes was actually amputated, hence the title. Several releases and band members later, The Undead are still doing their thing.

Bring Me The Horizon Unlease "Heaven" & "Hell" On New Album Out Oct 5

Bring Me The Horizon is defining the sound of modern metal as we know it with their urgently dark, epic new album, There Is A Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let’s Keep It A Secret, scheduled for release on October 5 via Epitaph Records. Beginning today, fans are invited to pre-order the new album at KingsRoadMerch.com/Epitaph-Records and check out a new trailer for the record at MySpace.com/BMTH or here. BMTH will unleash Hell on fans this fall when they co-headline the AP Tour Fall 2010 tour with August Burns Red.

After the commercial and critical success of previous album Suicide Season (2008), BMTH were determined to explore the more experimental side of their music, refusing to be confined to the unwritten rules of the Metalcore scene that spawned and catapulted them to worldwide domination. From the progressive opening riff and digital manipulation of choristers in the epic ‘Crucify Me’, to the violins of ‘Don’t Go’, to instrumental track ‘Memorial’, it quickly becomes clear that this is an album like no other.

The band locked themselves away in a lochside mansion deep in rural Scotland for the majority of the writing period, and, free from distractions, the band were able to push their writing further than ever. Yet the album still includes the trademark elements that have become staples of BMTH’s sound since 2006 – precision guitar riffs, venomously dark lyrics, massive breakdowns and gang vocals destined to be chants at the band’s incendiary live shows.

The team at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden (where they previously recorded 2008’s smash Suicide Season) were again at the helm of the recording, this time bringing in electronic and programming authority KC Blitz to assist with the instrumental aspects of the album. The album also includes appearances from various special guests, including Josh Franceschi of You Me At Six (on ‘Fuck’) who stated “I’m really excited to be part of this record as it's going to turn some heads, and that's what music is all about.”

Also featured on the album is Josh Scogin of The Chariot (on ‘The Fox And The Wolf’) – “This album's so good, it made my chest hurt!”, Sonny Moore aka Skrillex with electronica contributions – “Oli and I started the collaborations on this album in a very natural way, just bouncing ideas off each other like we often do over the internet. I did a little programming, and he asked me to come down to the studio to do some additional vocals. I think it turned out amazing” and Canadian electro-pop starlet LIGHTS (on ‘Crucify Me’ and ‘Don’t Go’).

There Is A Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let’s Keep It A Secret is, in many ways, a concept album. Frontman Oli Sykes vividly explores humanity’s collective good nature and the celestial euphoria associated with love, lust, truth and desire; this is balanced by the darkness and evil that is likely buried deep inside all of us. Lyrically and musically, the album is the band’s most honest work to date as Sykes lays bare his fears, weaknesses and anger, which is just one layer on this truly progressive and advanced third album.

There Is A Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let’s Keep It A Secret Track Listing:
1. Crucify Me - 6:20
2. Anthem - 4:50
3. It Never Ends - 4:34

Weezer Return To Indie-Rock Roots With New Album

Influential multi-platinum, Grammy® winning alternative rock band Weezer have announced plans to release a new studio album entitled Hurley this September 14th on Epitaph Records. Starting today, fans are invited to pre-order the physical album now at EpitaphStore.com or on Amazon.com. The album's first single, "Memories," can be streamed now at MySpace.com/Weezer and purchased on iTunes.

Innovative rockers Weezer have inked a deal with leading independent label Epitaph Records signaling the next phase of their acclaimed career and the return to their indie roots with a highly personal and sonically exploratory album guaranteed to delight their fans.

"So far we've had a really good creative collaboration with Brett Gurewitz and the other people at the label, and I'm looking forward to collaboration with other like-minded alternative music fans at the label," Rivers Cuomo recently shared with Los Angeles Times.

"I've been a fan of Weezer from the beginning, and I've loved all their records," says Epitaph president and founder Gurewitz. "So it's amazing to find myself working with them on the new one!"

"Weezer is a great band," adds labelmate and Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong. "I'm stoked they're going to be part of the Epitaph family."

Produced by Cuomo and Shawn Everett (Raditude, Phantom Planet, Ozomatli), Hurley is a high-energy rock album that wastes no time with the first single "Memories," an impassioned look at nostalgia with fast tempo, buzzing guitar riffs and killer hooky chorus. Subsequent songs include soon to be fan favorites "Ruling Me," "Trainwrecks," "Hang On" and "Brave New World." Rivers picks up the acoustic guitar on the reinvented power ballad "Unspoken" and the raw Sixties influenced, Mac Davis co-written "Time Flies." The classic Weezer sound is reignited with songs like "Smart Girls," "Run Away" and the quirky "Where's My Sex?" Fueled by a newfound sense of independence, Hurley finds the band making some of the most powerful and adventuresome music of their storied career.

"We all felt that the really intense, raw emotional side of Weezer is what's going to make everyone the happiest at this moment," Cuomo told Los Angeles Times.

"Weezer's become a totally kick ass live band, and when we were making Hurley you could just hear the sound of people going into the studio, pressing 'Record' and rocking," Cuomo says. "There's just an insane amount of energy on songs like ‘Where's My Sex' or 'Memories.'" (SPIN.com)

Known for their quirky album artwork, Weezer have done it yet again. The cover features a simple, yet astonishing close-up of actor Jorge Garcia, which fans of the "Lost" series will no-doubt find as perplexing as fascinating.

"We struggled super hard trying to come up with an album title, trying to find some kind of phrase that summed up the whole aesthetic behind the album: 'Heavy Mental,' 'Smaller Than Life,'" Cuomo recently told Spinner.com. "I was coming up with all kinds of stuff, but ultimately, we just went with some random word that doesn't really have anything to do with anything. I just loved this photo of Jorge Garcia -- it just had this amazing vibe. We didn't want to do a fourth self-titled record and we knew people would refer to it as 'the Hurley record' even if left it without that title, so we just called it 'Hurley.' No words are on the cover because all we wanted was his amazing face."

This fall marks a new album and new beginnings for one of the most accomplished and genre defining modern rock bands. Stay tuned to www.weezer.com and www.epitaph.com for up-to-date news and information about Hurley and the band's soon to be announced fall tour.
