The ADveRts- No Time TO be 21

For me;;;;
the adverts are the greatest punk band from the 1977 UK punk explosion, and they managed to captured it all on their debut LP "crossing the Rea Sea" (as well as on their singles) with a less than perfect combination of intellect, energy, raw passion,Genius Lyrics , lacking just the right amount of musicianship to make the listener run for an instrument they never played with total inspiration, showing the masses you dont have to be yngwie malmsteen to write classic songs....
...............,Fukk I will even take "cast of thousands" their ever foward reaching second + Final album even though most people dislike it. alongside their apperance on the" live at the roxY " compilation and radio sessions they even appeared on "top of the pops". Gaye Advert + TV Smith were the punk rock romeo + julliette. even Iggy Pop took them on his" lust for life" tour as a opening act.
TV Smith continues to make music today and plays live over the world , his dedication, hard work and never selling out is what makes this man such a LEGEND.

New *Real McKenzies* and *Swingin' Utters* out today!

The Real McKenzies, Shine Not Burn

This new acoustic 21 song full length from The Real McKenzies packs a powerful intimate punch. Shine Not Burn was recorded in August 2009 at Wild at Heart in Kreuzberg, Berlin and explores all the beauty of Scottish folk music at its best. Perhaps best known for their Scottish punk flare of dancing, drinking and playing their hearts out until the wee hours of the morning; this release shows their softer, more intimate and introspective side, while not losing any of their passion.

F.U.2. "Punk Rock"

Released in 1977 under the pseudonym F.U.2, the band consisted of a reformation of the Downliners Sect who originally formed in 1962. In 1976 they got back together and released this album under a punk moniker after seeing reverberations of the original punk movement going on in the UK. Even though Downliners Sect were more of a 60's garage rock band, they still had a punk-like attitude.

The 12 songs they recorded for this LP had the sound and spunk of a much younger band, all things encompassing what was punk rock to be. Hard to believe they were formed 15 years prior to this album. Regardless this is a real solid album and one that has stood the test of time.

NOFX _The Longest EP_ August 17th

As most of you know, four days ago Fat Mike set up his own twitter account. Well, it took him all of two days to scoop us on a news story, post some incomplete artwork for an upcoming NOFX release, and set off various threads of misinformation in the blogosphere… talk about your classic backfire. So, now is probably a good time for us to step in and give you the straight dope.

On August 17th we’ll be releasing NOFX’s The Longest EP, a collection of 30 EP tracks from 1987 to 2009, plus rarities, out of print stuff and previously unreleased outtakes. Instead of paying like $30 for the 5 EP’s, you can get em all on one CD for $10. You can scope the final artwork (including Melvin this time) below, which happens to be by the same dude that illustrated the cover of The Longest Line. In conjunction with this release the other EP’s will be going out of print. One other tidbit, the double lp will be a limited pressing! Get the original CD’s while you still can…

Go here for the full track list.

Fiends "We've Come For Your Beer"

1984 saw the release of many a classic album, so it was certain the Fiends "We've Come For Your Beer" would be overlooked. A tongue in cheek Californian horror show with track titles like "Riot in The Men's Room", "Die Bob Die" and "You Make Me Sick". This LP even features an MC5 cover of "Ramblin' Rose". Their sound veered more to the sillier side of punk, and to a kind of rockin' cowboy themed movie. BemisBrain Records released it and this remained popular for a few punks and Weekend Warriors.

They also released a second LP "Gynecology" that featured the top 10 hit "Hugh G. Erection" among other blockbusting hits.

Fat Mike imposts his imposter

So there’s this guy, Fat_Mike, who’s been pretending to be me on Tweeter for several months now. I didn’t really pay attention cuz I’m not on any of the other social networks and I figured what harm could it do? Well apparently a lot cuz now this douche has 6000 followers and he’s a total prick. I don’t like someone going around making my bad name even worse. I get in enough trouble with the actual things I say. I don’t need any more help, thanks. So I’ve decided to actually start twitting on my own. This is totally retarded, but I gotta fight fire with…….well, drugs and alcohol. Here I go into the wild world of no privacy and way too much information. It starts here with my first twat:

My Tweeter name is FatMike_of_NOFX and I’m an alcoholic

Vom "Live At Mabuhay Gardens 1978" & "Live At Surf City 7 inch"

Blah blah all stars Vom formed in '76, featuring Richard Meltzer, Greg Turner, Mike Saunders, Dave Guzman, Lisa Brenneis and Phil Koehn. Abbreviated, short and to the point like their name, Vom (short for Vomit) had enthralling live shows that included throwing cow parts, food and various edible condoms at the audience to incite riots and/or create a reaction. The members of this group knew their shit and were all respected in the rock scene. With tracks like "I'm In Love Your Mom" and "Electrocute Your Cock" it was no wonder they took L.A. by punk storm. Check out videos on youtube.

I ripped this from my own cassette and 7", the cassette is of a live show at Mabuhay Gardens 2.24.78. I tried to do my best with improving the sound, keep in mind the tape is over 30 years old. The other is their classic 7 inch "Live At Surf City". Greg Turner along with Mike Sanders would form Angry Samoans in '78, they also played a few Vom tunes.
